SLIGHTLY BETTER NEWS FOR 2021

As I am sure you all know the only income our club receives to ensure the future good quality of our facilities is from annual fees and rink fees paid by our members.

The annual fee charged in the autumn of 2020 was paid by only approximately 50% of our normal membership, and those who paid had only 5 weeks bowling due to the lockdown.

The costs of maintaining the club continues whether we are open or not, and further costs were incurred in making the club a safe place. And although we received grants and furlough money from the Government, we found that we needed to dig into our reserve funds to continue. We were fortunate that careful and frugal management over a number of years had managed to build a reserve to accommodate this decision.

Following a discussion with our Financial Director (Peter BLACKMAN) I am pleased to be able to inform you that the membership fee for indoor bowls for the season 2021/2 will be reduced by £20 for those who paid for season 2020/21.

As previously announced the club will re-open (with restrictions) on 19th April 2021. We hope the outdoor season will be uninterrupted, and that the indoor season will be available fully in the autumn.
