Board of Directors

The Board meets regularly to discuss the financial running and maintenance of the Club.  The Directors are appointed at the Special General Meeting, held annually, and must retire after serving three years but can seek re-election.

The Directors are all voluntary members: Chairman, Financial Director, Projects Director, Engineering & Maintenance Director, Operations Director, Coaching & Safeguarding Director, Health & Safety Director.

Indoor/Outdoor Bowls Committees

There are 2 Bowls Committees, chaired by the Club Captains, which are responsible for the bowling aspects of the club i.e., leagues, competitions etc.  The committees meet once a month during the relevant playing season and are answerable to the Board of Directors.

If you would like to sit on either of these committees then add your name to the list which appears on the noticeboard prior to the AGM each year; you will also need a proposer and seconder.

Social Committee

A separate committee operates to organise and run social events throughout the year such as: End of Season Dinners; Christmas Celebrations; Bring and Buy, Cake and Craft sales; raffles; as well as running a second-hand book stall with jigsaws and other handmade objects. Through their hard work and dedication, they make for the Club and its members a substantial amount of money each year.

Staff

The club has several paid members of staff.  The Club Manager is responsible for the company’s employees, contractors, and the day to day running of the Club. Reporting to the Club Manager is a part-time Admin Officer, bar staff and caterers, who run the kitchen as a separate entity from the Club, providing after-match meals.

Volunteers

As with all clubs, we couldn’t operate without the generous support of our members volunteering their time and skills to assist with many activities across the club including league and competition management, coaching, green and building maintenance, social events, etc.

Communications

The club aims to ensure that members are kept fully aware of events being held at the club, how the club is faring financially and future activities.  We do this by:

  • Issuing regular email communications directly to members with email addresses
  • Maintaining the noticeboards which hold details of up-and-coming fixtures, team lists, AGM and SGM notifications, etc.
  • Through our website: which holds a vast array of information
